Prix REALM Awards July 2010 - The Resource Service Library Receives Innovation Award

The Resource Service Library (RSL) Project Team at the W. Ross Macdonald School received an “Innovation” award at the Prix REALM Awards celebration.  The REALM Awards recognize excellence and achievement in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (the Learning Ministries).  Successful recipients received their awards in June.

The RSL provides materials in Braille, large print, digital audio, and e-text to students who are print disabled and attending Ontario's elementary and secondary schools.  The project team has generated very impressive results in 2009 including:  an increase in the number of requests for material through RSL, an increase in the number of students registered, cost savings, and the service has produced green results as material can be downloaded as opposed to produced in hard-copy form, such as a CD.
