The W. Ross Macdonald School - Deafblind Resource Services
is offering a two-day training institute:

An Introduction to Deafblindness & Intervention

September 26 & 27, 2012

Fee: $60 per day

This institute is geared to intervenors, teachers, principals, resource personnel and educational assistants who work in the area of deafblindness. Individual workshops will provide an overview of deafblindness, provide strategies and programming ideas, address the unique needs of individuals who are deafblind, and provide an overview of the philosophy of intervention and the process involved in its delivery. Presentations will include simulations that allow the opportunity to apply the information presented to experiences.

Workshop will feature major presentations on:

  • What is Deafblindness? What is Intervention?
  • Activity-Based Programming
  • Reactive Environment
  • Communication
