Professional Development Workshops for Educators
Blind/Low Vision Resource Services provides interactive, fun, and customizable workshops for Teachers, Educational Assistants, Parents and Administrators. Workshops can be offered in your home board, during the school day, P.D. days, or at staff meetings. The workshops may include:
- Suggestions and demonstrations for techniques and methods used in instruction of students with visual impairments.
- Presentations and workshops to provide information regarding educational implications of visual impairments/blindness.
We also offer opportunities to attend Professional Development provided by Vision Resource Services and Outreach Programs at W. Ross Macdonald School.
WRMS Additional Qualification: Teaching Students Who Are Deafblind, Part 1

4 hours in class and 6 hours online study per week for 13 weeks

The Additional Qualification Course Teaching Students Who Are Deablind, Part 1 employs a critical, pedagogical lens to explore in the holistic and integrated manner theoretical foundations, learning theory, program planning, development and implementation, instructional design and practices, assessment and evaluation, the learning environment, research and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning across the divisions. Through these explorations, candidates strengthen professional efficacy by gaining in-depth knowledge, refining professional judgement and generating new knowledge for practice.
